Buddy Benches, an idea that began in 2013 by second grader Christian Bucks of Pennsylvania, are just that: a bench at an elementary school, child care center, or community location where a child, or even an adult, who is feeling lonely, upset or in need of company can sit to signal to others that they need help or just a friend.
