Infant Toddler Initiative
Babies are born learning! The first three years are when most brain development happens so infants and toddlers need to be in classrooms that give them lots of opportunities to learn and grow. They also need to be cared for by teachers who are skilled in building healthy relationships with them and their families.
The Infant and Toddler Initiative helps Flagler and Volusia early educators support the healthy development of infants and toddlers.
Benefits of participating include:
- Training with CEUs that helps teachers improve their classroom environment and relationships with children and families.
- Classroom materials to support growth and development.
- Monthly visits from an ELCFV Early Intervention Specialist who provides resources and demonstrates activities to help meet the needs of infants and toddlers.
- Facilitated Community of Practice meetings to help infant and toddler teachers support each other as they make improvements to what they do each day so that every infant and toddler grows and develops to their fullest potential.
