New online courses:

The Department of Children and Families’ Office of Child Care Regulation has developed five new courses. These online courses may be used for your in-service training requirements and CEUs may be earned:

  • Building Relationships with Families (BRWF): The goal of the Building Relationships with Families course is to present examples of research-and evidence-based practices related to creating receptive, responsive, respectful, and reciprocal relationships with enrolled families.

  • Developmentally Appropriate Classroom Management (DACM): The goal of the Developmentally Appropriate Classroom Management course is to provide early childhood professionals with classroom management strategies necessary to develop and enhance quality, positive behavioral supports for young children.

  • Healthy Habits for Quality Child Care (HHCC): The goal of the course is to provide child care professionals with procedures to use to identify and establish healthy habits in themselves, children, and families.

  • Supporting Diversity Awareness (SDA): The goal of the course is to explain the concept of diversity, describe its influences on behavior, and provide examples of how to apply appropriate techniques to support it in a program.

  • Understanding Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Sensory Processing Disorder (UAS): The goal of the Understanding Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and Sensory Processing Disorder course is to help early childhood educators understand these specific conditions and identify their early signs. It will also explain how to include children who have these conditions.
