The Firefighter Friendly program connects firefighters to select early learning programs to foster positive relationships and build early literacy skills. Each month, firefighters from Flagler County Fire Rescue visit a center or child care to read stories and help build the children’s
self-esteem and social skills.

ELCFV provides each early learning program with play-based activities that enrich their existing curriculum and extend the learning well after the firefighters have left the program.
